FigmaScope
Export a Figma file into context for coding agents
FigmaScope is my own product: a browser web app that reads a Figma file through the Figma REST API and builds a context bundle for coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Copilot. You give it your Figma personal access token; FigmaScope does not store the token.
What it does
From a Figma file to a context bundle and a design-system audit
Figma REST API
Reads the Figma file through the Figma REST API with your personal access token. FigmaScope never stores the token.
Bundle for Coding Agents
Builds one context bundle for coding agents: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Copilot.
CONTEXT.md and Design Tokens
The bundle starts with a CONTEXT.md overview and includes the design tokens of the file.
Screens and Components
A layout description for each screen and an inventory of the components in the file.
Strings and PNG Renders
The text strings of the design and PNG renders of the screens, ready to give to an agent.
Design-System Audit
Checks token coverage and finds off-palette colours and detached component instances.
The problem with design handoff today
When a designer hands off a Figma file to a developer โ or now to an AI agent โ the usual flow is: export screenshots, copy-paste measurements, write a description, hope the agent interprets it correctly. Context is lost at every step.
AI agents like Claude Code and Cursor work best when they receive structured, machine-readable input. A PNG tells an agent what something looks like; a FigmaScope bundle tells it what something is โ its semantic name, its relationships, its tokens.
I built FigmaScope as my own product to close that gap in my own work with coding agents.
What the bundle includes
- CONTEXT.md with an overview of the file
- Design tokens
- Layout description for each screen
- Component inventory
- Text strings
- PNG renders of the screens
